Vivek Sinha has a PhD in industrial economics and technology management with a focus on entrepreneurship. His research focuses on growth of new ventures and scaling of the impact of entrepreneurs’ interventions, especially in contexts like the base of the economic pyramid. He has previously worked with entrepreneurs focusing on challenges such as bringing financial services to the poor, providing access to the labour market for those lacking access, and providing electricity to rural communities using renewable energy technologies.
As an innovation manager at SFU Engage and NTNU’s Energy Transition Initiative (NETI), he works on facilitating innovation from research through courses on research-based innovation, interaction with industry and the public sector, and development of projects for the application of research to solve societal challenges.
